Visit Digest Fair Use Policy
This Fair Use Policy explains the intended and permitted use of Visit Digest's AI-powered features, including visit recording uploads, AI visit prep, and follow-up chat. It exists to help us keep the service reliable, affordable, and available to all users.
By using Visit Digest, you agree to use the service in a reasonable, personal, and non-abusive manner consistent with this policy.

1. Purpose of This Policy
Visit Digest is designed for personal health record use by patients and their families. Our AI features rely on shared compute and third-party processing infrastructure, so usage must remain within reasonable personal-use boundaries.
This policy helps us:
- Keep the app fast and reliable for all users
- Prevent misuse, automation abuse, and account-sharing abuse
- Control infrastructure and third-party AI processing costs
- Preserve a sustainable subscription model
2. What Counts as Fair Use
Fair use means using Visit Digest primarily for your own personal or household health-record workflow, in a way that matches normal human use of the product.
Examples of fair use include:
- Recording and summarizing your own medical visits
- Managing records for a child, parent, or dependent in your care
- Preparing for upcoming appointments using the visit prep feature
- Asking reasonable follow-up questions about a completed visit
Examples of use that are not fair use include:
- Using Visit Digest as a bulk transcription or summarization service
- Sharing one paid account across multiple unrelated users
- Using bots, scripts, or automation to generate large volumes of requests
- Attempting to bypass plan limits or technical safeguards
- Reselling, sublicensing, or operating Visit Digest as part of another service
3. Current Plan Limits
The limits below reflect how Visit Digest works as of 27 September 2026. We may change these limits over time to improve service reliability, reduce abuse, or reflect product changes.
3.1 Limits That Apply to All Tiers
- Audio visit fair-use cap: up to 5 audio visits per rolling 24-hour period
This cap applies even on paid plans and is intended to prevent abuse, bulk usage, or account sharing.
3.2 Free Tier
- Up to 1 audio visit lifetime
- Up to 1 completed visit-prep chat lifetime
- Up to 5 follow-up chat messages lifetime
3.3 Pay as You Go
- Each credit covers 1 audio visit (recording or upload, with its transcript and summary) after your free visit is used
- Credits are one-time purchases, do not renew, and do not expire
- A credit is used only once the visit's transcript and summary have been delivered; a visit that fails to process does not use a credit
- Pay as you go does not include visit-prep chats or follow-up messages. Once you have bought credits, the free visit-prep chat and follow-up messages are no longer available; these need a Monthly or Yearly plan
- Audio visits are subject to the 5 audio visits per 24-hour fair-use cap
3.4 Monthly and Yearly Plans (Pro)
- Unlimited visit-prep chats and follow-up messages for normal personal use
- Unlimited audio visits for normal personal use, subject to the 5 audio visits per 24-hour fair-use cap
4. How We Measure Usage
For purposes of this policy:
- An audio visit is counted once its transcript and summary have been delivered; a visit that fails to process is not counted
- A completed visit-prep chat is counted when the prep flow reaches completion
- A follow-up chat message is counted when you send a message in the AI chat for a completed visit
We may rely on server-side usage records, entitlement records, and security controls to enforce these limits.
5. Prohibited Use
You may not use Visit Digest in ways that interfere with the service or shift disproportionate cost or risk onto us. Prohibited use includes:
- Automated, scripted, or programmatic request generation
- Repeated attempts to create new accounts to avoid plan limits
- Sharing credentials with unrelated third parties
- Using the service for commercial transcription, medical scribing, or agency-style workflows
- Uploading or processing content you do not have the right to use
- Reverse engineering, probing, or testing the service in a way that creates abnormal load
- Attempting to disable, avoid, or work around rate limits, quotas, or paywalls
6. Enforcement
If we reasonably believe your usage violates this policy, we may take action to protect the service. Depending on severity, this may include:
- Temporarily slowing or blocking requests
- Preventing further use of a feature until the relevant limit window resets
- Requiring an upgrade to continue using certain features
- Suspending or terminating access for abusive or fraudulent activity
We may also investigate unusual usage patterns even if they technically fall within a stated numerical limit, where those patterns indicate automation, bulk use, fraud, security risk, or misuse of a personal plan.
7. Service Changes
We may update this Fair Use Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy and may also provide notice in the app or on our website.
Continued use of Visit Digest after a revised policy takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
